The Award-winning animated film and stage play comes to life
in this romantic and beloved take on the classic fairytale. Based on the original Broadway production that ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

What is a Young Artist Production?

The foundation of PMT’s mission is built on arts education, development, mentorship, and providing performance opportunities for young artists. Students at PMT Conservatory receive a truly unique experience to use their training in fully produced productions of their own in which they take on roles as performers and technical theater crew. Whether a student wishes to pursue a career in the arts or another field, Young Artist Productions provide an opportunity for growth and building transferable life skills in our future leaders. Patrons attending Young Artist Productions will be a part of it all as they experience and enjoy the best of our region’s talented youth in professional-quality entertainment!

Pittsburgh Musical Theater provides low-cost tickets to student groups during our special 10:00AM student performances. Tickets are $15 each, with 1 complimentary ticket included for every 20 purchased.

Exchange Policy

You may exchange tickets to another production within the series up to 24 hours prior to the performance that you are unable to attend.

It is recommended that patrons exchange tickets as early as possible. All exchanges are subject to availability. If you have special seating requirements please advise at time of exchange.

Call 412.539.0900 x232. We will hold tickets at the theater day of performance or provide you with exchanged tickets prior to performance if you have receipt of original tickets or actual tickets. Your original tickets will no longer be valid, OR visit the box office up to one hour prior to the production you are unable to attend.

Pittsburgh Musical Theater takes your safety very seriously, and has implemented additional measures to better assure the comfort and protection of all persons who visit or frequent the Gargaro Theater and the West End Canopy. The most critical issue to Pittsburgh Musical Theater is always the safety of our stakeholders; staff, volunteers, visitors, and guests. Our policies are meant to preserve that commitment to security.

  • Weapons of any kind or facsimiles of weapons, including firearms, pellet guns, stun guns, martial arts weapons, pepper spray, pocket/utility knives or cutting instruments
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Flammable liquids
  • Fireworks, pyrotechnics, flares or incendiary devices
  • Glass, metal, or plastic containers of any kind including cans, bottles and flasks
  • Outside food or beverages including alcohol
  • Interchangeable/detachable camera lens (No professional photography-unless authorized)

  • Beach balls, projectiles, balloons, permanent markers, spray paint

  • Signs, flags, banners
  • Selfie sticks
  • Guests without shoes or shirts
  • Costume masks / masks that are not medical, or are not related to COVID-19 safety

  • Optical illusions
  • Jewelry that could be used as a weapon including chains and studded bracelets
  • Pets, other than service animals
  • Segways, skateboards, rollerblades, hoverboards, bicycles, helmets, any type of portable seat, other than those approved and required for accessibility
  • Noisemakers, bullhorns, or air horns
  • Unapproved pamphlets, handouts, advertisements

Unattended items left outside venue doors will be discarded to ensure guest safety.
