Conservatory Resident Artists report directly to the Conservatory Director and are responsible for educating PMT Conservatory students in the musical theater discipline for which they are qualified and hired to teach. Resident Artists may have the opportunity to participate in curriculum development with the Conservatory Director based on their personal skill set and interests.
Qualified candidates will be passionate artists who are skilled in their craft and thrive on the ability to provide excellent arts education experiences for students from all backgrounds and a variety of skill levels. PMT recognizes the great value in arts education for all students, and aims to equip students with transferable life skills, especially: empathy, generosity, collaboration, determination, and confidence. PMT strives to create a culture of mentorship and synergistic learning within PMT Conservatory through integrated opportunities for students and artists. Successful resident artists will seek out and enjoy mentor/mentee relationships with students and value the shared learning that occurs within these relationships.

Founded in 1990 and located in the West End since 2000, Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s student body is made up of approximately 300 students from 7+ regional counties and 25+ neighborhoods within the City of Pittsburgh.
